The sunny days of early spring call us out into the gardens to move things around and complete winter cleanup as we plan the new growing season. We made it to Dragonfly Farms Nursery on the first open day of the season, looking for a Mahonia Charity to add winter color & 'bones' to the Perennial Garden. Owner Heidi suggested many other great plants to consider, including the sweet-scented Umbellularia californica, the Oregon Myrtle or California Laurel, with its soft yellow blossoms against the bright leaves of this columnar evergreen.

Olympic Room Ceremony under the Chuppah

Sarah and Steve celebrate their marriage in an indoor ceremony where each of their heritages, the powerful stories of family and the joys and dreams they share were woven together in word and song. The flower girl held a special friend from the bride's childhood.

Smokin' the BBQ

The gardens and hay shed are framed by Spady's BBQ van and smoker, where his pork and beef were being slow-cooked to perfection for an early-September wedding reception.

Family Traditions and New Starts

Jessica & Dan welcomed their guests to their August ceremony at the Perennial Garden with a creative blackboard program.

Their guests made greetings to hang on a living tree to be planted at their home.

And guests signed a rolling pin keepsake, just as their grandmother's guests had done in the 1940s.
